Margaret Lawson, Sam Smith and Sandy Rogers attended the Tweed Shire 2016 Australia Day Awards Ceremony on the 26th January where KIN received a Certificate for ‘Community Event of the Year’.
Margaret (KIN Committee & Sandy (KIN Vice President) were honoured to receive the award on behalf of the KIN Committee.
The award was given for the KIN Dragon Boat Festival. It is nice to be recognised for this wonderful event that is now going into it’s 32 year. This has been possible because of the dedicated KIN Committee, the volunteers who give their time so freely and because of the community support. It is all about Community Supporting Community.
The KIN Dragon Boat Festival is KIN’s major fundraiser and we thank each and every individual and Business that
Has continually supports this event over the 32 years.
This award is for all those that have assisted or donated – we salute and thank you all.
KIN would also like to thank and recognise Sam Smith (Above Centre) who took out the Young Achiever in Community Service award for his Kids in Need (KIN) Day event.
All money raised was donated to KIN.
Well done and congratulations Sam!
